The agenca was founded by Bernd Nagel and Erich Göttmann in 1986 and has been owner-managed since then. In 2008 Thomas Braun arrived to strengthen the Board.

PP now has a team of 25 permanent staff.

The agency has a stake in PP Personality, which specialises in HR services.
